Essentially this post aims to provide you with a few procrastination(s) tips I usually apply  to refrain from this duck-and-dive habit . Procrastination is characterized by our  lovely ability,Lovely ability? Excuse me ……Procrastination is a way of consistently postponing an action or task until a later date. It’s sometimes so difficult to get rid of this habit but with self discipline ,determination and practice of   these few procrastination   tips  below you most certainly will see a shift. I love this quote “Don’t fool yourself that important things can be put off till tomorrow; they can be put off forever, or not at allâ€Â ~Mignon McLaughlin, The Neurotic’s Notebook, 1960, it reminds me to ask myself….. why not do it Now!Â
 12 Procrastination Tips
1, Think; Researches have indicated that the mere thinking of a task in more concrete makes it feel like it should be completed .But Please don’t develop headaches; just do what you got to do!
2, Write; “The discipline of writing something down is the first step towards making it happenâ€~ L.lacocca
3, Belief System; Our belief(s) creates and shapes us. For instance, I belief I can always do it tomorrow or I don’t have time are some of the characteristics of procrastination.
4, Time; Establish the urgency of time you could  think self consciously with reflection phrases such as ..Time is money, Life is too short …, and Time waits for no Man. Always ask yourself… “why not nowâ€. If the answer you come up with is†I will do it tomorrow†simply remind yourself that tomorrow never comes! You get the gist? ..Just do it Now! as no one really knows tomorrow.
5.Proposed Plan; Device a plan to kick start your day and accomplish your pre-defined tasks. A plan like a road map will provide you with directions .This can be done mentally or by scribbling it down .
6, Priozitize; In priotizing your work load or tasks in a scale of preference format should give you a sense of organization.
7, Reminder strategy; Here I don’t just tick off dates on a calendar with tasks to complete I also input messages into my mobile phone and programme it with the most annoying ring tone just to act as a reminder  and get me into the swing of things..
8, ,Kiss ; Keep it Smooth & Simple , break plans tasks into small project if needed ;the last thing you need is stress consistently creeping in which could lead to abandoning the task .
9,Be Realistic; establish and focus on what is sensible when taking action. At times no one knows us better than ourselves ,we need to be aware of the extent to which we can  push on ……You can be put off a task or goal if over stretched.
10, Lifestyle; If we are too busy or have a chaotic life, it’s worth juggling things around to make this work for you  ; Here we must find time to review and readjust our lifestyles to suit our purpose of endeavour. .
11, Coping Strategies; Create relaxation techniques as well as healthy eating habits or any forms of therapy that will enhance both your mental and physical well being.
12, Reward self ; This is the Tastiest part of the pie; here we simply reward and uplift ourselves in order to look forward to the next task.
I hope you have found these few procrastination tips useful ?If you do  have more ideas  please don’t forget to share ,the more the merrier .

Funny, we sort of have the same theme this week! I find myself at least re-organizing/cleaning my desk even if I don’t actually do any work – I’m only foolin myself but I’m more inclined to at least not have the excuse of a messy desk!

Great tips! I’ll admit I am a bit of a procrastinator. If I make a list of all the tasks that I need to accomplish it usually helps me.

I love #12! I also think that somestimes, simply finishing something you’ve put off for so long is reward enough. It feels great to have come out on top of a nagging task.

I like all of these, but especially #9. Be Realistic.
I don’t have a problem with procrastination, but I know a lot of people who do. Being realistic helps with that overwhelmed feeling.
The feeling that paralyzes you so you don’t do ANYTYHING!
I’m a musician too, so I’ve had to use a lot of these strategies with practicing.

Seems to be a really common issue
Really good tips to get over it and create new habits. I would add one more:
break down big tasks in small portions. I work with a kitchen timer and do 30min of the task I don’t want to do. So I get started, see some success and don’t get overwhelmed.
